Business Mindset
In one of my recent posts I wrote about tapping into the subconscious mind to reach your unlimited potential. The process for doing this is actually called the Neural Reconditioning Process. This is the process of changing your behaviors by accessing the subconscious mind and feeding it the information you need to become what you set out to become. In short, it’s taking control of your life, rather than having life happen to you.
So let’s take a look at the steps we need to make this process work for you. There are five basic things that need to be completed on a daily basis.
Step One is affirmations. We looked at these in a previous post, but to recap, we need to develop positive affirmations that can be repeated daily. A positive affirmation goes something like this “I am grateful to have everything in my business to take it to the million dollar a year level”. You will want to create many positive affirmations that you must repeat every morning when you wake up and in the evening when your ready to sleep. It is important to repeat these affirmations at these times, because it is easiest to get into a slightly hypnotic state in early morning and late evening when there are few distractions and your most relaxed. It is in this hypnotic state of mind that you are able to access the subconscious mind and that is our objective with this practice. Remember, repetition connects thoughts deep in your brain, at the subconscious level. This is the level of your mind, in which behavior resides and we are changing behavior with this practice.
Step Two is visualization. The purpose of visualization is to give your mind’s eye (self) a detailed picture of what your success looks like. You want to create the most detailed pictures in your mind, of what your business looks like, who your customers are, what success is, and what it has done to your life in terms of helping others, buying nice things, and enjoying the fruits of your effort and hard work. You need to visually create whatever it is you want, in your minds eye. This is done most effectively in a comfortable, quiet setting so that you can really focus on those things that you want to create in business, and in life as a result of your success in business. Just a note, it works best with your eyes closed. That way, there are no distractions and your focus remains on the pictures, or mental movie, you create in your mind.
Step Three is Meditation. Some folks may deem meditation as a far eastern religious practice or something of that nature, but it is in fact a very effective tool that many individuals use to increase their productivity, creativity and efficiency, just to name a few. This is a method for entering into the “alpha” state of mind, which is receptive to change. When one meditates, you enter into a state of mind that connects you to the universal intelligence. The great Napoleon Hill was quoted in his book “Law of Success” as stating the subconscious is the gateway to the universal intelligence. It is through this connection that real behavior changes are made and engrained in our subconscious, which as we know now, controls behavior. Meditation is also a great for stress relief, relaxation, and heightening focus and these all contribute to your success in business and life.
Step Four is Audio Affirmation. In audio affirmation, I am suggesting that you create your own auditory affirmations that can be used in your meditations. When you do this and use the audio in your meditations, your affirmations get repeated consistently, which we want, and the information is planted in the subconscious mind due to the alpha state you enter into when meditating. This is a normal practice for Hypnotists who offer self help CD’s or tapes, in which the client listens to while in a self induced hypnotic state. You should do the same! Create your own audio affirmation CD or tape and listen to it on a daily basis when you meditate. Once again, it is the repetition of the message in an alpha state of mind that will help bring about change in your behavior.
Step Five is a Vision Board. This may seem unimportant to some, but when you create a vision board, you actually give yourself physical pictures of what you are driving yourself toward. Place pictures of what your business looks like, what you want as a result of success in your business, and various other pictures that serve as a physical reminder of what you’re creating. The added benefit of a vision board is it gives you pictures that you can use in your visualizations from step two. What we are doing here is tying in the five steps with actual pictures of your success in business and in life. A Chinese proverb goes something like this, “Whatever you can create it in your mind, you can create it in your life”. That my friends, is a fact! Now go out and get started with your own Neural Reconditioning to create a successful business and wonderful life.

Business Mindset
In one of my previous articles I discussed the Universal Laws of Attraction and Cause and Affect, and how they impact one’s ability to create success in business. Today I would like to expand a bit on that discussion and touch on how our subconscious mind affects our perceptions and behavior. Most people don’t realize that 96% to 98% of our behavior is controlled at the subconscious level. Throughout our lives we are basically conditioned into thinking the way we do and thus behaving in certain ways that are automatic, as a result of that conditioning.
In the past several years, through researching the mind and how it works, scientists have uncovered the reasons why people behave in the manner they do and what causes this. Basically, our beliefs are nothing more than neuro-networks in the brain or connecting brain cells. With conditioning, these networks grow and become fixed in our implicit memory system, which causes us to believe in the ways we do. The process of changing these belief patterns in our implicit memory system is known as the neuro-reconditioning process. The process works when we repeat an affirmation on a regular basis, with visualization and emotion. This is a simplified explanation of how the subconscious mind can be impacted to change your behaviors and ultimately achieve the results you set for yourself. Below is a simple three step process for changing your beliefs in a way that will impact your results:
1) Take action every morning by stating a positive affirmation. It will go something like this -”I am so grateful to have everything in my business to take it to…“state the level”.
2) Visualize success! – Whatever that is for you, it must be engrained in your mind visually. See what it is to be successful and hold those pictures in your mind.
3) Emotionalize success! – Feel what it is to be successful and hold on to that feeling throughout your day. When you state your affirmations, do it with emotion!
The process above is nothing more than repeating positive affirmations with emotion and being in the state of gratitude for what already exists in your life. Finally, act as if you are already successful. Whatever level of success you set for yourself, see yourself there and results will begin to follow. I know this may sound esoteric for some, but it is without a doubt, the way to manifesting your own destiny!

Marketing
Today’s information blog has to do with discovering your ideal customer. Many people go into business with very little understanding of how they will attract the ideal customer or even knowing what an ideal customer is. Well let me start by identifying what an ideal customer is and then we will dive into the ways you can attract this individual to your business time and time again.
An ideal customer is someone for whom you will serve to be an expert in whatever it is they want. The key is they will “want” whatever it is you produce in the way of product or service. This person will purchase from you over and over based on the fact that you have identified what they want and have the ability to deliver a product or service that satisfies their emotion every time they make that purchase. You may remember the old BMW ad campaign that stated BMW not only satisfied your need for motion….but emotion or some words to that effect. Simply stated, what they were saying was people buy our cars because we satisfy their emotional factors when they buy our product. So how does this happen? For the answer to that question, let’s take a look at the two primary categories in which most successful businesses will go to find their customers, Demographics and Psychographics.
Demographics: What are demographics and how are they used in business today? Well demographics basically identify the characteristics of the consumer who needs your product. These characteristics are things like gender, age, marital status, income level, educational level, job title, etc. Notice they are individual traits that I have listed, so these would be demographics for a business that is selling directly to a consumer market. In a business to business market, the characteristics will be things like number of employees, number of locations, product or service type, annual revenue, time in business, etc. So basically what the demographics identify, or describe, is the available universe of everyone who could possibly buy your product or service. This is important, but it only accounts for about 10% of the success equation.
Psychographics: This is the key to penetrating a specific niche in a market and identifying the ideal customer. Psychographics are the characteristics that help identify the customer who “wants” your product or service. They identify the so called “hot buttons” of your ideal customer. Those being the emotional factors the consumer experiences when they buy the product or service you’re offering. When you are able to identify the psychographics of your customer, you will be better equipped to identify the market niche that you are going to penetrate. It also identifies you as a specialist in the niche that you have selected to do business in. One way to identify your market niche is to select an area of the business you are entering that resonates with your passion in life, and then innovate your business so that nobody can match what you provide. That is how you can dominate a market niche and grow a successful business. The good news here is that when you reach the point I describe above, your customers are willing to pay for your expertise and the value you provide them.

Business Mindset
I want to share with you a basic theory of how people can be successful in business. Getting started and being successful in business can be easy if you have the right mindset. Do you believe in the natural laws of the universe? If so, you have an advantage in any endeavor you take on, simply because the understanding of how this field of intelligence works will give you an inside clue as to how you can impact your life, and specifically, your business. Each one of us has something inside us that has the ability to harness this power at any time. And when you learn to harness the power of the universal intelligence, you begin to see that you possess the power to create whatever you want in your life.
Two very important natural laws of the universe are the “Law of Attraction” and the “Law of Cause and Effect”. First let’s look at the law of attraction. It is imperative to understand that we attract into our lives what we think about. The human being simply moves in the direction of our thoughts and this is what we can refer to as the “law of attraction”. It is also important to know that whatever your thoughts are, reside in a certain plane or vibration level. That is why it is so important to keep your mind on positive thoughts, so that you resonate with all things on that vibration level. You see, when you “know” what the outcome is going to be to any challenge, you’re more likely to achieve that outcome as a result of having your thoughts on the same frequency or vibration plane as the result you’re intending to achieve. This is called thinking from the end or seeing the result you’re creating. This thinking from the end is what leads us to the second law of attraction, which is the “Law of Cause and Effect”.
The Law of Cause and Effect simply states that for every effect there must be a cause. Whereas the law of attraction is about thinking and feeling, the law of cause and effect is about “doing”. Results are the effect of what you have been doing. It has been said many times that some fall short of success because they stopped doing whatever they were doing to create success. You may have heard the saying “you reap what you sow” and so when you stop sowing, what do you expect you will reap? The answer is nothing or not exactly the result you had in mind when you initially set out to create a result. The effect is the result of the action you take or the “cause”. You are the cause of your life and that includes every result you create through your own actions. Remember this, as it will be the key factor in your business success and in your life.
So to wrap up this brief lesson on creating the right mindset, let’s think about the two key laws we must focus on to create success. The law of attraction is where we keep our thoughts and feelings aligned with the results we have set our sights on, by elevating them to the same vibration level as those results. When that is accomplished, we must then take the right action (cause) to create the result (effect). I will state that this is a simplified explanation of these laws that reside in the field of intelligence, but it is a good place to start in our journey to create a successful business. We’ll have much more to come on this topic and others that will help to bring you success in your business ventures.
